Cesaria Evora was born in Mindelo on 27 August 1941 and is considered the "ambassador of Morna." Throughout her artistic career she has published 24 albums, including original, live shows and partnerships with other artists from various countries such as Caetano Veloso and Marisa Monte.

On 10 May last year, the diva underwent emergency surgery to her heart, also in France, where she spent a month in recovery.
