Airports in Cape Verde passengers traffic raise of 5.6%
Passenger traffic at the airports of Cape Verde has grown 5.6% over the first half of 2010, confirming a trend towards more dynamic in international activities (+6.1%) than in households (+5.3%). The number of aircraft movements increased by +1%, with records of +7.4% and -1.6% in the international at home. The cargo loaded and unloaded surpassed one million and 700 thousand pounds, an increase of +8.8% and +13% in the international and the domestic +6.3. Airports in Cape Verde received 5.6% more passengers .
According to Jorge Santos, advisor of Communications and Marketing at ASA, Cape Verde's airports grew by 5.6% in the first half of 2010, over 38,826 passengers recorded in the same period of 2009. Ie a total of 726 279 (excluding transit passengers).
Sal still leads
Sal airport handled the largest number of passengers (254 674), of which 154 431 international (+3.1) and 100 243 households (-0.9%). The Beach has 219 618 passengers, with 94 112 international (-2.5%) and 125 506 households (+5.5%), while that of Boa Vista has positioned itself in third place with 120 224 passengers: 88 890 International (+30, 4%) and 31 334 households (+4.7%).
When accounted for transit passengers, the airport of Sal sum 187 889 (+3.4%) international, Boa Vista 101 896 (+27.6%) and Beach 94 199 (-3%). The group's charter airline TUI continues to generate the most traffic to Cape Verde with 104 591 passengers for the islands of Sal and Boa Vista. Portugal was the country that more traffic shared with Cape Verde (95 968, +0.4%), with an increase in Boa Vista (11 939), +22.5, stagnation Beach (43 894) and 0.1% drop in Sal (40,135) -4%. In second place was England with 54,545 passengers, representing an increase of 40.3%. It should be noted that the island of Sal has absorbed most of this traffic (32 101), but with virtually zero increase, ie 0.3%.
Boa Vista continues to grow
Increased traffic from the United Kingdom was due mainly to the island of Boa Vista, which attracted 22,444 passengers, representing an increase of 226%. Then come Italy (26 071) -40.3, Germany (25,016) -2.2%, France (19 793) +117%, Senegal (13,438) -3%, USA / Boston (12 571), +2% Denmark (11 952), +105%, Spain (10 234) +44%, Belgium (7969), -13%, Brazil / Fortaleza (6138) -3%, Angola (5673), +26%, Czech Republic (3031) , +100%, Guinea-Bissau (2066), Hungary (2017) +68%, among others.
Most passengers from Italy went to the island of Sal (23 121), representing 88.6% of total) and the remaining 2950 (11.4%) preferred the island of dunes. Passengers from Germany also demanded the salt in excess (17 274, corresponding to 69% of total), while 7772 (31%) had Boa Vista as a destination. Passengers from France, transported by Air Mediterranee, XLAirwaysFrance and TACV and were distributed in the islands of Boa Vista (5527), Sal (5353) and Santiago (4527).
Praia leads domestic traffic

Noted the significant increases and impacts of international movements in Sal (+11.3%) and Boavista (+20.7%), while the aerodrome of Fire led in terms of growth rate of domestic movements (+29.1 %).
Moving loads
The movement of air cargo increased significantly at the airports of Cape Verde in the second quarter year (+23.5%) in the first half reached the figure of over one million and 700 thousand pounds, an increase of 8.8%. Apart from the airfield in May (-15.3%), all airports and airfields in the country had positive results.
