Three thousand homes will be built under the credit line with China

Prime Minister Jose Maria Neves (JMN), announced today that, under the credit line with China under negotiation since 2006 between the two governments, will be built in Cape Verde about three thousand houses.
The head of the government speaking at the end of the debate on "Foreign and Domestic Policy: The Housing in Cape Verde", proposed by the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV-power) at the plenary session this month.

"The Home for All Programme, are creating a lot of confusion around this program. Have you done a great job, for example, the line of credit with China since 2006, which is being negotiated. Let's build some three thousand houses under this credit line, "explained the governor.

According JMN, with this line of credit, which is not yet complete because the archipelago depends on external resources, objective is precisely correct, for example, the tents on the island of Boa Vista.

As Prime Minister, the idea of solving the housing problem did not start now. He explained that a survey conducted in 2005 and in 2006 began to negotiate and is in the process of being finalized.

The Head of Government stressed that "Home for All" is for everyone, so the credit line signed with Portugal, at around 200 million euros, which intends to build eight thousand homes in the 'Resize Cape Verde " , "is just one part", corresponding to about 20 percent of existing deficits.

"So to say that all these programs are only for 20 per cent is misrepresenting the truth, because the 200 million program is just one part, with the Rehabilitation Program, with China and also creating a fund for housing, a fund guarantee ", illustrated the governor, considering that this is a comprehensive program and will continue in coming years.

In contrast, the leader of the bench of the Movement for Democracy (MPD-opposition), Fernando Elysium, reiterated that "Home for All" became a "House for Some", neither in his view, the JMN, during the debate, clarified a number of issues, including how many Cape Verdean enterprises will benefit from the credit line with Portugal, how many job posts will be created and how they will improve their access to income with this line of credit.

"It proved also that ultimately the project will only be ready in two years, but this course we have elections in 2011. Announces it now in order to create expectations among the people to be able to vote in the PAICV, "accused the opposition, concluding that" Home for All "is a" Blufi "that will only start in 2013.
