Juvenile violence lead José Maria Neves to S. Vicente

This phenomenon of violence leads The Prime Minister, José Maria Neves, in a meeting tomorrow   Monday, March 15, at 16h, in Mindelo with representatives of civil society and public institutions to jointly examine the phenomenon of violence and discuss ways to establish a partnership to define a shared strategy of mobilizing civil society to combat violence.

In Cape Verde gets no signs of unusual violence in society, with the occurrence of violent crime which drew the attention of Cape Verde for this phenomenon, especially among the youth, and has motivated responses from both state institutions, as part of society.

This situation calls for a concerted action of all for greater effectiveness of specific measures to be adopted or strengthened to counter the trend of rates of violence in the country and thus put an end to the feeling of insecurity in cases of this type is installed in the communities.

The Government considers it necessary and urgent to develop a shared strategy to combat violence, mobilizing all public bodies, civil society organizations, families and citizens to establish a national consensus on the issue of violence and the measures adopted to deal with the problem.
