The Minister of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Telecommunications, Manuel Inocencio, presiding, on Tuesday, 09 March, the act of signing the contract on the project design and construction of infrastructure with cold. The signing of this project takes place at the premises of ENAPOR in Mindelo, from 16:00 hours.
This implementation agreement that is signed by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Telecommunications and by the Spanish company Ramon Vizcaino International, S. A. is financed under a credit of 13.0 million Euro granted by the Development Assistance Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain.
The inclusion of a complex of cold on the waterfront, designed primarily for storage and maintenance of industrial fish fleet operating in the mid-Atlantic, fits, along with others, in strategic transformation of Porto Grande on an international industrial fishing in our sub-region.
In addition to this primary function, includes an area reserved for storage of fishing products and the packaging of perishable products for the local trade, especially meat and fruit.
This project is a valence of business of Porto Grande on their way to the reform and use of port territory with a view to transforming them into space where they can coexist noble cruise terminals, marinas, shopping complexes and hotels, restaurants, convention centers and exhibition areas reserved for office accommodation business, etc..
The aim eventually is to create in the Porto Grande institutional conditions and logistics for public and private sectors can co-exist in the ports and to integrate port-city, making this area a center for attracting investment.
