Port Security: scanners are already in Cape Verde

The three scanners commissioned by Enapor to the Chinese company Nuctech to strengthen security in container traffic in the ports of Praia, Mindelo and Palmeira are already in Cape Verde. But these devices should only start operating since next April.

According to sources, scanners will only begin to work on the 09th of April in the Port of Praia and the 17th of May in Porto Grande and S. Vicente. The scanners were tested between 12 and 15 October in China and arrived in Cape Verde earlier this year.

These facilities, two fixed and one mobile, were built using the latest technology and are considered crucial in combating illegal acts such as trafficking in drugs and weapons.
