Moving to Cabo Verde:

These few words will try to help you in case you are taking in consideration moving permanently in the arcipelago.

So if you plan to settle in Cabo Verde and maybe you're retired you should be aware that Cabo Verde offers this possibility to all those who have an income of at least US$ 1300 per month.
Once in possession of a residence permit you will enjoy certain privileges, including the ability to bring you some goods such as cars and electrical equipment without having to pay taxes, exemption of property taxes when buying a home or a ground.
Furthermore, if you decide to invest a portion of your savings you will be recognized as investors with all its benefits, which will be explained in the section “Getting Started”.

Getting Started:

The request to launch foreign investment shall be filed in Cape Verde Investments through the site www.virtualcapeverde.net, from which you can obtain more figures and information.
Once obtained the certificate of external investment you have the access to tax incentives. But you must know that this process could be very elaborate.
It’s very important to know the Portuguese language otherwise will be very difficult to understand all the rights and the duties that we have from and to the Cabo Verde government.

Necessary Documents for Retired Foreigners to obtain permanent Residency

 a) Pension/Retirement statement issued by appropriate entity(ies);
b) Document from appropriate legal entity, as proof of the Petitioner’s capacity to manage him/herself and his/her goods;
c) Certificate of criminal record or equivalent, issued in the last two months prior to the submission of the petition for Permanent Residency;
d) Declaration from the Petitioner, vowing to respect the laws and customs of the country;
e) Proof of goods and financial resources of petitioner and/or of his/her spouse, if applicable;
f) Authentic photocopy of Identification document;
g) Marriage certificate and birth certificate of under age children or their dependents, if applicable, accompanied by respective official translations in Portuguese;
h) 2 photographs of each family member
i) 51.55 CVE (per person)
